Royal Palm Suite Hotel

The location is the one good thing here, with a supermarket, pharmacy, and restaurants nearby. Otherwise, what a disappointment. My friends and I stayed from February 9th-13th for Carnival, and there was nothing royal about the place. The property felt very neglected and badly in need of renovation. Our suite was large with high ceilings, but it was filthy, disgusting, and very outdated. The stove was dusty, and the kitchen was dirty and had no plates, cutlery, pots, or cooking utensils. The toilet, tub, and bathroom floor were never cleaned. We wore flip flops in the shower because the tub was in such bad condition. Water pressure was poor, the old mirror was cracked, and the toilet didn’t always flush properly. Two beds were metal cots with thin sheets and were poorly made. The room was not cleaned while we were there. When we asked the front desk, they said staff wouldn’t come in unless someone was present. We were there to enjoy Carnival, not wait around for daily cleaning. I’ve never stayed at a hotel that worked this way. The towels looked old and worn, like they came from someone’s home, and there were no garbage bins in the bathroom, kitchen, or anywhere else in the suite. The only decent thing on the property was the pool, but guests have to pay extra to use it. The Wi-Fi only worked in the lobby or just above it on the second floor. Unless you’re desperate, don’t stay here. They need to put money into the place and update it so people will want to return.
