Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Trincity Trinidad Airport by IHG

For a few hours of sleep between connecting flights, this worked perfectly. Beds were really comfortable, everything was clean, and the staff were friendly. The shuttle runs all day and night; ask for it at the information desk in the middle of the airport. We arrived late, and when the desk called for the shuttle, the hotel kindly offered to keep the kitchen open for us. That was above and beyond.

This is a handy airport hotel, about an hour from downtown attractions, with local rideshares and a free shuttle to the airport and nearby mall. The mall has shops and a mix of ethnic food options. At the desk, the staff were efficient and helpful, and NICOLE suggested things for our one-day visit, including a tour to Carobi Sanctuary. Our king room had a soft comforter and pillows, a large TV with local and US channels, a walk-in shower with Dove ® amenities, a working phone, closet space and drawers, a fridge, microwave, and in-room coffee. The property is accessible, with an accessible check-in counter, and coffee and tea are available in the lobby around the clock. Breakfast was a standard buffet with four kinds of coffee, several teas, eggs, bread, cereal, milk, and watermelon. For our 5 am flight they packed generous breakfast boxes. The gym has machines and equipment and is open 24/7. The outdoor pool has color-changing lights, chairs, and loungers. Bring your room towels. It sits beside a busy road.

We’ve just checked in, so far so good. The room is really spacious, and the AC had already cooled it down when we arrived. There’s a shuttle to the nearby mall, which we’ll be using soon. Maybe I’ll have more to say after we’ve looked around.

For our overnight layover, this was a convenient choice near the airport. The on-demand shuttle there and back was free, check-in was quick, and the room was clean. Breakfast was continental, with delicious Trinidadian spinach added.
