The rooms are good quality and you can’t beat the location, though the hotel is a bit pricey. I really loved this Marriott. The staff were extremely helpful, especially the receptionist, security team, and bartenders.

A pleasant, hassle-free stay at Courtyard by Marriott Port of Spain. The rooms were modern, comfortable, and clean, and check-in went smoothly. The staff were very helpful, and the service felt true to Marriott standards.

I gave it one star just to post a review. If I could, I’d give it minus three. I’m married to a Trinidadian and travel here three or four times a year, and the service quality appalled me. We had some family visiting and may have been a little noisy. Instead of calling, two security guards came into our room without warning while my 76-year-old mother-in-law was asleep in bed, and told us we were too loud. At the same time, seven white men were drinking beer in the lobby and shouting racist remarks. The guards’ unannounced entry violated the law, and people were allowed to yell in the hallways, except people of color. To me, that showed how racist the organization is. The place is a dump, and this experience made me decide to end my Marriott Bonvoy membership. I’ve never had this issue at the Hyatt regency, where I usually stay when I visit Trinidad.

We went for the Mother’s Day brunch. The welcome was great, and the food was delicious. The atmosphere felt warm and breezy while still being cozy.
