The room we were given at Hilton Trinidad & Conference Centre felt dated and due for refurbishment. With the premium Carnival season rates, I expected something fresher and more up to date. The front desk was another letdown: during one of the year's busiest periods, only two people were handling check-ins, so things took time and felt strained. The front desk manager didn’t seem very engaged or focused on solutions, and the service lacked the warmth I’d hoped for during Carnival. Nearby Hyatt Regency Trinidad has, in my experience, been more attentive and customer-focused. The staff there listen and work with you to address concerns, which makes for a more welcoming atmosphere. Given what Hilton charges, I’d advise travelers to compare options carefully, since other places at this price may provide a more polished, service-oriented stay.

Being a little above Port of Spain gives Hilton Trinidad lovely views and a breeze, and the setting is peaceful, away from traffic. My room’s decor was somewhat dated, but it was well cared for, with a good bed and a hot shower. I liked breakfast on the terrace and found the pool relaxing between meetings. Since it’s up on the hill, visitors will probably need a taxi or car to get around.

The staff are really friendly and attentive, and the outdoor patio is a nice spot for a meal or drink with a view. The hotel is well maintained, with comfortable, quiet rooms that make it easy to rest. It also has modern amenities like a coffee maker, microwave, and TV.

I loved walking through the hotel and seeing the city and mountains from the hallways, and my room had a lovely view of the pool. The hotel itself was beautiful, and the rooms were incredible. I enjoyed sitting at the bar, then had a great dinner and ate it by the pool. Breakfast the next day was fresh, delicious, and offered lots of choices. I also walked from the hotel to the botanical gardens and zoo. Loved my visit and can’t wait to come back!

The food was good and the staff were pleasant, and I had a pretty relaxing stay. I’m not sure what the full pet policy is, but there was a dog in the pool while we were there.
