I loved the desserts here and would absolutely recommend the place to anyone who enjoys them. The tiramisu was unlike what we expected, made like a macaron. I’m not sure whether there was ice cream in the middle, but it was delicious, with a lovely vanilla taste and texture. The madeleine was a little dry, as expected, and might go better with black tea. The sea salt added layers of flavor, though I prefer sweeter treats and probably wouldn’t order it again. It’s in a really unusual spot, out in a field rather than by the road or in an alley. At first I thought the navigation had sent us wrong, which was pretty funny. The location can be confusing if it’s your first time. I also didn’t get to see any cats, which I’d love to do on another visit. I would’ve liked to stay the whole afternoon, have a drink, and read. It sounds so relaxing, and the place has a very different feel.

The bed and quilt were clean and comfortable, and the warm, homey atmosphere made it feel like coming home. The room has no TV, which is great for relaxing, and it was quiet at night except for a few loud door slams from other guests. Two mosquitoes got in and woke me during the night, though. The chubby cats are adorable, and the coffee and desserts downstairs were delicious. I only found out from other reviews that there are books in the drawers.

The room was clean, compact, and cozy. A cat even came in at night, though it just went to sleep. We weren’t allowed to eat in the room, but sharing food in the lounge and chatting with the owners and other guests turned into a lovely trip memory. The coffee and desserts were delicious, too. I’d recommend it to anyone planning a Kinmen trip who’s looking for a place to stay, especially cat lovers. I’d checked reviews and maps beforehand and worried the guesthouse might be too far out since it wasn’t in a busy area. It turned out closer than I’d expected, and the surroundings were peaceful and comfortable. On the first ride to White Cat, I wondered if we were really going the right way. After following the navigation for a while, we spotted signs along the road and followed them to White Cat.

The desserts were unexpectedly tasty, and the owner was very friendly. The rooms are simple but comfortable, and there are several cats around, which makes this a great place if you’re a cat person. The first walk to the guesthouse can feel a little unsettling and might make you wonder if you’re heading the wrong way. I’d definitely come back.
