It's fairly central, and you can walk slowly to places to eat. The problem was that by the time we cycled there, around 4:30 pm, all of them were closed.

The room matches the photos, though in person it doesn’t feel as luxurious as it looks. 🤣 The bed and pillows were on the soft side, and the room was reasonably clean. I didn’t like the Daxin push-button hairdryer. The bathroom water got painfully hot even at the coldest setting, especially if you’re sensitive to heat. Mountain wind can be strong, and the windows don’t keep the noise out, so light sleepers may have trouble. The location is beside a temple, which may not suit people with health concerns. The owner wasn’t especially enthusiastic, though not rude. Savlon shower gel and shampoo are provided, but bring your own toiletries. It’s about a 10-minute drive to Sichongxi Hot Springs, with 7-Eleven, Hi-Life convenience store, and Fu'an Palace nearby. Parking and a refrigerator are available, as is bottled water. Breakfast is served in the kitchen in the morning and is optional. At NT$2500 a night, I didn’t think it was good value.

I was put off by how the owner handled my booking. Booking.com said I could cancel for free up to seven days before check-in and didn’t require prepayment. I had left my credit card as a guarantee, with the charge due at check-in, but right after booking the owner hurriedly messaged me demanding a 1000 NTD deposit within three days or the reservation wouldn’t count as complete. I asked what would happen if I cancelled after the free-cancellation deadline. She immediately called and asked, “So you're cancelling?” Then she said it would cause her trouble and insisted I pay the deposit right away. If I didn’t show up, she could charge the card and keep the room fee, so I didn’t understand why I had to transfer money to her account first when the platform has its own policies. The photos make the decor and facilities look nice, but the place felt flashy and impractical given that interaction. The owner's hospitality needs to improve, and she could use some education and training.
