Lanhiwan Inn

Perfect location and lovely rooms, everything looks wonderful. But the hotel was empty before Chinese New Year, and staff put a family with little kids directly above us on the first night. They ran around for more than two hours. I went down to complain at 11:30pm, but there was no one at the front desk. The next day, grandma and grandpa hammered at planters right outside my window for five hours. Our Taiwanese friend tried speaking with the staff. They offered no explanation, compensation, or discount if we stayed a third night. The options were earplugs, moving to another set of the same rooms on a different floor, or putting the three of us in a worse shared room. Clueless customer service. Stay away!

We stayed in the large family room, which had two bathrooms and worked for our family of six. The staff and owner were friendly, and the view from the fourth-floor terrace was great. Beach access is easy, so this is a great place if you like the beach.

Late-arriving guests were very noisy, and they were given a room directly above us. We couldn't get any compensation or suitable alternative rooms. We were also disappointed to be shown rooms that hadn't been cleaned or made up, even though the hotel was empty.

Loved it.
