The landlady's hospitality was almost too much! I'd happily stay again next time I'm in Hualien. From the outside, the guesthouse looks ordinary, but inside it's warm and welcoming, with lots of space and wooden floors. The wooden furniture is comfortable, and there's a remarkably well-preserved old sewing machine with all its parts still intact. It feels cozy and charming without major renovations, and I liked it much more than so-called themed guesthouses.

It's only a five-minute walk from the train station, with a 7-Eleven nearby, and about a five-minute drive to the city center. The owners were so friendly, shared travel tips, helped with what guests needed, and even offered fresh fruit. For the price, the value is fantastic. The room felt homey and relaxing, with spacious, spotless interiors and elegant teak floors, furniture, and decorations. The bathroom was large, new, and well ventilated, much better than many guesthouse bathrooms, and the toiletries were complete.
