Windsor's Breeze II

The location shown on Google Maps is the owners' restaurant, not the accommodation, so follow their directions when you book. The owners are friendly and helpful. They gave me a quick rundown of what to see and do in Jiufen, then took me to my place, about five minutes away. It was just a couple minutes' uphill walk to the old street. My bedroom had a stunning view. They brought a small but good breakfast between 0830 and 1000. The WiFi worked fine for phone calls, the room had a machine providing hot water, and the A/C worked well. I'd happily stay again if I return to Jiufen.

Windsor's seems to be run by two siblings. The sister answers messages, and the brother handles breakfast delivery and guides guests to their rentals. Both were very nice. They pick up trash every day unless you ask them not to, and breakfast comes each morning: a balanced meal box with different soy milk drinks. My kids love Windsor's. My teenage son stayed upstairs, where the wide window looks out over the mountain and ocean. We stayed at one of the Windsor's Breeze properties between the two temples. The owner said to get dropped off at the Taipei Xia-Hai City God Temple parking area, but the parking guard wouldn't let us enter the temple lot, so we got out in front of Mountain Inn Jiufen and waited for someone to show us the way. I believe all of the Jiufen Windsor's properties belong to the same people. They have several places around the mountain, some right in the Old Street area and others a street or two below it. Our rental had a hot and cold water dispenser and a fridge, but no microwave. Things close fairly early, and the 24-hour shops, 7-11 and Family Mart, have limited food choices, so stock up accordingly.

The owner was friendly and helpful, and the place had a beautiful view from the window. A lovely place to stay, highly recommended.

Even with the rainy, gloomy weather, I had a wonderful time. If I stay in Jiufen again, I'll definitely come back here. They were so kind, picked up my luggage on a motorcycle, and gave me a map of nearby restaurants along with great tips on places to visit. This really is the best place to stay.
