The rooftop garden was a lovely place to relax, and the rooms were pleasant with a really good shower. Breakfast varied a little from day to day, but was below par overall, although the breakfast staff were very good about clearing tables as soon as people left. I wasn’t happy with the service at the front desk. Staff were difficult to deal with, seemed as if they were being forced to work, and made an issue hard to resolve. After paying for an extra person, we shouldn’t have had to argue to get their free breakfast ticket. It felt like they didn’t want to help the customer. I expected suggestions for places to eat or things to do, but all we heard was that there was no food around here. They advertise a pool, but it’s closed for most of the year and is about the size of a four-person hot tub, so don’t expect much. I won’t go back.

It’s clean, modern, and good value for money compared with a minsu, especially if you have your own transport. The location in the Hualien suburbs isn’t ideal, with only two breakfast shops nearby, and the laundry closes at 9.30pm.

The location wasn’t ideal for me, since there aren’t cheap markets or food spots downstairs from the hotel. I’m not sure whether Trip.com was responsible for describing the rooms as sea view, but from mine I could only see the horizon. Laundry and KTV also cost extra, which I don’t think a hotel should charge for as simple facilities.

The hotel had a nice rooftop area to spend time in, plus a laundry room. Each floor has a hot and cold water station in the hallway. We were welcomed with local mochi desserts in the room, a lovely gesture, and the breakfast buffet had a good range of choices. The staff were super friendly, and the shower was spacious with strong water pressure. We had a lovely stay.

The room was nice, the service was great, and the location worked well.
