The owner was nice, and the place was clean, new, and reasonably priced. The location was great too. Once we booked, they asked what kind of room we preferred. We picked the one with a French bathtub, which was a lovely extra after a long day out. A bath really helped with the aches.

The couple who look after the place were kind and attentive, and did a lot to make me comfortable. When I asked, they moved me into a better room that was available. The room felt modern, and the homestay was professionally run. They even drove me to the train station and once into town. I recommend it if you want somewhere quiet and modern in Hualien. I did find some stains in the bathroom and long hair in my room, so the cleaning could be better. It's also not an ideal location without a car, since public transport in Hualien isn't as good as Taipei. I still wholeheartedly recommend staying here.

The hostess kindly offered rides so I could see different parts of the city, since I was traveling without a car. The place felt cozy and peaceful, and I had a wonderful time at Pretty. Getting around from there could be a little tricky without a car or moped, but I still really enjoyed my stay.
