Hand in hand B&B

We spent several relaxing nights in the spacious, comfortable first-floor common area, playing the board games we brought. The rooms were stylish and comfortable too. The guesthouse is beautiful and very affordable, and the owner was incredibly kind, offering lots of ideas for places to see. A fantastic stay, highly recommended by designers!

The owner was warm and helpful, and the guesthouse is clean and beautiful. Its roomy common areas are great for watching TV or chatting with friends. Restaurants and convenience stores nearby are a bit far, but you can bring food back and enjoy it here. A place that's hard to forget.

The room was spacious, and the bed had just the right firmness. The hostess who looked after breakfast was lovely too, and I enjoyed chatting with her each morning. She served Chinese-style congee, plenty of fruit, stir-fried vegetables, and scallion and egg stir-fry, all delicious. The homemade black tea was excellent as well. Before I arrived, the other hostess added me on Line and sent lots of travel information and restaurant tips. She was happy to help with any other travel plans, and at check-in she even showed a video about Hualien in the first-floor lobby.

The lobby feels more upscale than the nearby guesthouses, and there's free coffee, tea, and soy milk all day and night. A big balcony looks out over the meadow across the street. It's family-run. Wenyi, the younger sister, greeted me warmly and had already switched on the air conditioning. When she heard I'm from Hualien, she even invited my family to breakfast the next day. At breakfast she happily helped me take photos at the "three best photo spots," with homemade Facebook check-in frames. That was fun. The meal itself was a little disappointing: burgers and sandwiches, still warm but looking like they'd come ready-made from a breakfast shop. The Taiwanese macarons were unusual. She said a friend makes them by hand and supplies them every three days, and compared them to the famous Miaokou black tea. The apples and dragon fruit were a bit small. She said I could ask for more, but I felt bad doing that and suggested making it self-service. We stayed two nights, and they didn't proactively change the sheets or toiletries, or take out the trash. Very eco-friendly! We bring our own toothbrushes when we're away too, so please join us in supporting the environment. I spotted a hair on the towel rack at check-in. I figured that sort of thing could happen and didn't pay much attention, but do keep an eye on your surroundings. Before leaving, I asked Yu-ling, the older sister, where the water dispenser was. It was hidden under the sink, with hot and cold water controlled from a switch on the countertop. She said it was super convenient for Mom to make formula.
