Psminshuku

We were surrounded by rice fields, yet downtown Hualien was only about a 10-minute drive away. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and opening the curtains each morning to those views was such a refreshing start to the day. Our trip home nearly went sideways when a typhoon stopped the northbound train on checkout day. The owner helped us catch the last southbound train, so we got home safely. I’m so grateful. 🥹 The stay and the service were wonderful, and I’ll come back for sure!

It was peaceful and pretty around Daoxiangyuan Guesthouse, a lovely place to rest without being far from what we needed. Inside, everything was neat and clean, and the facilities were all there. The price was much more affordable than other places we considered. The owner was kind and gave us lots of useful suggestions. I’ll choose it again when I’m back in Hualien.

The owner made us feel welcome right away, with plenty of travel pointers and places to eat. The service felt comparable to a hotel, while the warm, tidy room had a comfortable, homey feel. I also loved the guesthouse’s luxurious-looking exterior. Its convenient location put attractions and local food close by, so there was lots to see and eat. A fantastic Hualien stay, and one I’d gladly recommend! 👍👍👍

We stayed on August 29, 2011, and relaxed as soon as we walked in. The big, clean living room had a beautiful wooden table and chairs, and it became our own place to eat takeaway dinner and chat without interruption. We could use the owner’s kitchen too, with pots and pans, which came in really handy. The rooms and bathrooms were clean, spacious, and well cared for. There’s an elevator, great soundproofing, and a large bathtub in the second-floor room where the kids had a blast. We spotted okra growing in the backyard and asked if we could buy some for our wild vegetable pot. The owner kindly said we could pick it ourselves. Thanks for sharing it with us, it was delicious! The owner was so welcoming. I never tire of visiting Hualien each year, especially waking up to the fresh air and mountain views. I’d love to stay here again.
