The kids’ toys and slide were the only reasons I gave two stars. Everything else was a letdown. The room was tiny, and this is a very small, typical guesthouse. There was fine grit on the bathroom floor and by the door, cobwebs on the door as pictured, and a musty smell when I walked into the room. Although there’s a lot of cypress wood and you can see the owner put care into it, cleanliness seemed to be a different matter. I also found two or three hairs on the unused bed in our family room. There was no breakfast either, so for the price it felt like very poor value. I’m a visitor from out of town, and over two days I stayed at two guesthouses in Yilan with similar prices. The differences in cleanliness, comfort, and how relaxing they felt were huge, which made this stay even more disappointing. Having this place on the final night really brought down the whole trip.
