Sasa Youth Hostel

I really liked my room, and after two days of hiking and unplugging, it was just right for a good rest. The place is simple and has no frills, but it’s clean and welcoming. I stayed two nights to get away from bigger Taipei, and it made a quiet refuge. Some staff could speak functional English; with others, I had to use Google Translate. That’s to be expected outside the big cities, and it wasn’t a major problem. One possible downside is the smell from the surrounding farm fields. If the wind’s coming the wrong way, your room might smell for a while. For the price, though, I could live with that.

It was a cold day, but this place still felt warm and homey. The minimalist decor was exactly my style, and everything was neat and tidy. I got here by bus from Jiaoxi bus station. This is the best backpacker homestay I’ve come across. See you next time.

The common hall is a nice place to sit and chat, and you can watch a movie on the projector screen together. There’s also a small bar inside. The surroundings are really nice, and the receptionist was very welcoming and speaks English. It’s affordable, so I’d definitely recommend this hotel.

Easy to get around from here, and the hospitality was great. The bed space is huge and the design is impressive. Probably the best hostel in Yilan! I’d recommend it to any traveler wanting to enjoy Yilan’s real beauty 🙂
