Haifu Hotel & Suites

I appreciate the coffee machine in the lobby, though I wish the hotel had a small gym. The rest of the staff are polite, even though they don't speak English. But the woman now working behind the counter is rude: she scowls when she sees a foreigner, eats behind the counter with her mouth open, and generally seems unwilling to help. I've stayed here three times for work over the past five months. My organization has an arrangement with the hotel, so I always pay the standard rate. The first visit was very good: a professional front desk, a decent sized room on the sixth floor with a view of trees and the street, and lots of breakfast options. On my last two trips, I got a smaller room with a window facing another building, two small single beds despite traveling alone, and breakfast with only a few limited Chinese choices. This may be the best hotel in Kinmen, but the staff should be more professional, the rooms better, and breakfast should make at least some effort to suit Western tastes.

It feels cozy and comfortable here. Definitely an experience worth having.

The room was clean, well kept, and had the basics you’d expect. The bed was comfortable, and the lobby was tidy. Staff were friendly and helpful at check-in and with general questions. There’s a small bar by the elevator with coffee, water, and a vinegar drink. Parking fits around 10 cars, which seems normal for Kinmen. The breakfast was average and could use more egg and meat options. We visited in December and it was cold outside. I turned the AC up to maximum, but nothing happened, so I don’t think it has a heat pump. More signs in English would help too.

I came to visit my ancestral home and found the rooms clean, well maintained, and a good size, with fast WiFi. It’s one of Kinmen’s more premium hotels and works well for families, with restaurants, amenities, and points of interest nearby. Ask at the front desk and they can arrange transport to the airport or ferry terminals.
