We had a lovely week at minnan in, room number 4. The staff were great, always around with lots of tips and kind little gifts. The room was spotless, the place felt traditional, and we loved hanging out in the courtyard. The mattress was a little too hard for what we're used to in Europe. Thanks so much to mannan in! We loved kinmen.

Really love this inn. It's laid-back and well kept. I'm glad the traditional house is still being used and that we could spend some lovely nights there. Highly recommend it.
A laid-back spot.
The owner was so welcoming, which made the visit a great experience. Kinmen's quaint old Fujian-style houses surrounded me and really showed the local customs and traditions.
The room setup wasn't anything special. We had two double rooms where you had to climb stairs to get to the beds, while the bathrooms and toilets were downstairs. The third room was a large shared space upstairs, with six mattresses on a wooden floor. Its bathroom and toilet were cramped, and going up and down those stairs was inconvenient for elderly guests. It also felt unsafe for the children, who could fall if they weren't watched carefully. Our group was ten adults and two children, including an 80-year-old, a toddler, and a child over three. We stayed two nights, August 25th to 27th, in three rooms for NT$17,000. Even with the holiday, that felt expensive during the seventh lunar month. We've stayed in several other old-house guesthouses in Kinmen and had good experiences, and could have gone back to one of them, but our large group meant we had to choose this place. The living room looked nice, but its air conditioner was broken and never fixed despite complaints. In summer it was unbearably hot without it. Service was almost nonexistent too. The housekeeper collected the remaining payment on the first day and left. After that, he said he was busy and contacted me through Line, but I never saw him again. He probably had several guesthouses to manage. As for the Line messages, read them selectively, he sometimes replies. It was a very poor stay in Kinmen and didn't feel worth the price. Maybe traditional old-style guesthouses just aren't for us.
