Grand Orchid Resort Villa

We stayed in one of the villas, but the photos made it look bigger and better than it really was, which was disappointing. The outdoor pool was quite nice. Inside, the villa was somewhat clean, but the hot spring tub had defects, with every jet hole broken except two, and the overhead shower head didn't work. Dinner was okay but lacked both variety and quantity. Breakfast was mostly canned food with congee. The staff weren't very friendly, though a few were a bit more polite.

Worst hotel experience. We booked a room, arrived, and were offered a cheaper one because they said the room we'd reserved was already occupied. We refused it and canceled. Just two minutes' drive away, we got a call saying our room was available after all. What liars. 🥵 They even canceled our other hotel booking nearby, without us knowing they owned that place too, the 26 villa located down there. They manipulated us. Who gave them the right to cancel the room we chose and offer us a small, untidy, unclean one instead? We were the ones paying. It really sucks and made me furious. Keep doing this and eventually no guests will come, and nobody I know will go there.

The room was basic, with a bed and old sheets. When we opened the comforter, we found short and long hairs scattered on the bedding. The floor was clean, but there were cigarette butts and trash between the refrigerator and closet. The tub area looked worn, torn, and ugly. There was mold in the closet, and the AC leaked water. Because of these problems, we were moved to two other rooms, but they had similar issues. While the manager worked out some details, we were sent to the small dining room for dinner. All the guests were served the same meal: wilted salad, some kind of fried nuggets, pork bone soup, cake, logon tea, and slow-cooked bone-in pork. In the end, we asked for a full refund and got it.

A beautiful place. Not bad!
