J Hotel

I came back for a second visit after first staying here early last November. The Japanese-style interior is clean and comfortable, and most of all, very quiet. I slept and rested well, though I didn't have time for breakfast this time. The early morning staff were friendly. There were no parking spaces available, so you have to find one nearby. You can't park under the arcade and can only stop outside. The hotel is on Jiuru 2nd Road, Sanmin District, Kaohsiung City, Taiwan Province. I'll give it a try again next time!

The location is good, within walking distance of the MRT. The rooms were fine, but the noise insulation needs improvement. I could hear every conversation from neighboring rooms.

Housekeeping was great, and the accommodation was tidy for a family stay at a fair price for the area. It's around Kaohsiung CBD, with snack shops and a convenience store just around the corner for late-night needs. But there was a strange smell when I first opened the door and whenever I turned on the air conditioner. The front desk seemed unprofessional. I'm not sure whether every guest has to pay TWD$200 per adapter. I needed two, and they didn't seem to mention or return the deposit at checkout. The woman tried to find it in the logbooks, but not in the computer. 👎🏼

I tripped because the lift and the ground level on level one weren't even, which felt quite dangerous. The walls were also incredibly thin, and I could hear every word from the room next door. Although the room was clean, it was so uncomfortably small that there was nowhere to open a suitcase except in front of the toilet. I've stayed here before and had a wonderful experience, but this visit was completely different. Customer service used to be a highlight, but this time it was shockingly rude and dismissive. That, along with the room, made this stay far worse than the last one. I won't come back or recommend it to others.
