Leesing Hotel-Qixian

The bed was perfect, the bathroom was big, breakfast was pretty delicious, and the room was worth the price. Getting there is okay, about a 15-minute walk to the nearest MRT and a one-minute walk to the bus stop. There was a bit of a scene when a foreign guest tried to check in because the front office staff couldn't speak English. Also, the sign says LS Hotel, not Leesing, so you might miss it.

The bed was clean and comfortable enough, and guests can use the free bikes. The staff didn't speak English and seemed a bit uncomfortable with us as foreign guests, though they were still nice enough and there was no real issue there. But the room smelled strongly of smoke, as if people had smoked in it for decades before the hotel became non-smoking. Nearly every surface, including the tables and chairs, was sticky, and there were clumps of hair on the floor. A humming noise, probably an air conditioner from another room, went on all night. I'm afraid I can't recommend it.

The first room we booked was non-smoking, but it smelled strongly of smoke, partly masked by a scented spray. We asked to switch rooms, and the replacement smelled strongly of bleach, which immediately irritated my breathing and made me cough. We canceled right away, but their policy wouldn't let us cancel the first night. I had to contact Agoda customer service to cancel the full three-day booking, and that caused a 40-minute delay. It was a hassle.

I love the calm, clean atmosphere. The bed was good, and the romantic lighting made it easy to relax. Breakfast was nice too, especially the unlimited coffee.
