Sun Motel

The breakfast was a bright spot, with coffee and tea, bread, and around five or six hot dishes. The voucher setup was odd, though: we received tickets for just one morning, and when we asked for another set for our second day, they said we had to check in each morning to get them. Our room also had a strong cigarette smell as soon as we opened the door, despite being described as non-smoking. The shower never got properly hot, and its head kept shooting upward at random. When we asked to leave our bags for an hour after checkout, we were told to put them in an unattended room with a doorless elevator, so we ended up carrying everything to lunch. We chose this motel for two nights because it was available and near the train station. I’m happy to stay in budget places, and this was actually the priciest stay of our week in Taiwan. I’ve stayed in some pretty rough places, but this was one of my most disappointing, especially for the cost. The Wi-Fi was decent and the location worked, but I wouldn’t come back. I’m sure there are better choices for the same price or less.
