Hotel G

Hotel G is a good deal when you weigh everything against other hotels, and I highly recommend it if you visit Penghu. The location is very central to local attractions, so you can walk everywhere. Our room was roomy, bright, clean, and recently remodeled. The staff were attentive and good at suggesting activities and excursions.

The male and female staff were very friendly, but I had a bad experience with the scooter rental. A friend and I rented one, and its rear seat seemed close to breaking. It had only one screw, though I think there are usually two. When my friend lifted the seat to put something inside, the whole seat came off at the side. We told the owner, who later sent us a quote asking us to pay compensation. He said that if we didn’t pay, we’d have to cover repairs that would leave the scooter unusable. We paid at the time, but looking back, a few of us girls couldn’t have broken the seat through ordinary use. The scooters the hotel rents out may simply be very old. The helmets were watermelon-shaped and had oily straps. There was no windshield either, and my friend said his eyes hurt badly while riding across the cross-sea bridge. If you’re thinking about staying here, think twice.

The bed and quilt felt different from what I usually get at hotels, almost as if there were an extra velvet layer. I normally struggle to sleep away from home, but slept soundly all night. The bathroom was bright and spotless, with polished faucets and showerhead, and there wasn’t any musty smell. Inside, the furnishings made the room feel cozy and relaxing, and I couldn’t hear the busy market outside. Beichen Slow Hotel is right on Penghu’s bustling market street, with public parking nearby, so it’s both lively and convenient while still quiet in the room. The owner was friendly and welcoming. I’ll choose this place again next time I visit Penghu. I fell asleep so quickly that I forgot to take pictures. 🥲😅

The room was clean and bright, with good ventilation in the bathroom and strong water pressure. Even though Beichen Slow Hostel is in the market area, there wasn’t any noise in the room. The central location also made shopping and getting around very affordable. The staff gave us a warm welcome and excellent service as soon as we arrived. I’d consider staying here again if I get the chance to visit Penghu. 😄
