Yuan Yu Hotel

The receptionist was very friendly and gave excellent service, but I expected a very ordinary hotel and found it even more basic than I imagined. I bought a package tour from XiangX Travel Agency at the travel fair, partnered with Yuan Yu Hotel. At the fair, I was told it was a standard hotel, but nobody mentioned there was no elevator or that breakfast was buffet only. Carrying luggage up to the 4th floor was tiring. The triple room was much too small, with an odd triangular layout and no clear path for moving luggage. I suggest they improve it. The double room was small but livable, though it needed a more thorough cleaning. The toilet door wouldn't shut, there was no shower curtain, and the toilet paper was close to the showerhead. It was already wet after I showered.

The staff were polite and friendly, the bed was comfortable, and the bathroom had good water pressure. The room layout was irregular, there was no elevator so we had to carry luggage upstairs, and the soundproofing was poor. We could hear children next door making noise, along with water pipes from the neighboring room. The hotel's rental scooter was in poor shape. The oil hadn't been changed, the oil light stayed on all day, and the tire pressure was low. I checked after inflating it myself and found it was under 20 pounds.

The staff were so welcoming that they made the place feel like staying with friends. They also gave us great tips on sights, snacks, and possible itineraries, without pushing any particular tour, which felt reassuring. It’s right in Magong city center, convenient for getting around, and my room was quiet, clean, and comfortable. There’s no elevator, and anyone wanting a higher level of service may prefer a more upscale hotel, but I had a really good stay. I’d happily come back to Penghu and stay here again. 👌❤️

The rooms were clean, though noise carries between them and along the hallway. There’s no elevator, so you’ll need to carry your luggage upstairs. For water and hot coffee, dispensers are available in the first-floor lobby and on the third floor. Breakfast is included through a nearby breakfast shop. You choose a main item and a drink, then pick it up in the lobby. In the bathroom, the raised shower lip doesn’t stop water from splashing out. There’s no exhaust fan either, so you need to open the window for ventilation and to let things dry.
