Hsin Hsin Hotel

The room was fair, and the station is very close. It’s easy to get local Taiwanese breakfast nearby, and the hotel is not far from tourist spots like museums and parks, with YouBike access too.

For a short visit of 1 or 2 nights, it’s fine. My double room was basic but clean, and the hotel is close to Miaoli train station, not the HSR. The town area isn’t too far, and there’s a bus stop nearby, though the bus schedule isn’t very accurate.

I’m traveling solo around Taiwan right now and ended up spending one night in the shared dorm room. I had an incredible experience and nothing but good things to say about the place. The hospitality was remarkable. It’s a family-run hotel, and the owners, a husband and wife, and their daughter are the ones who take care of it.

The staff were lovely, and they even remembered my umbrella for me, thank you, Google Translate! I liked the little dining area too. I stayed in the mixed dorm and had the place to myself that night. It was spotlessly clean, with a power outlet, privacy panel, and locker for each bed. They provided clean sheets and a small towel, which felt posh after staying at a temple with none of that. The bathroom had a tub and hot water. It was a bit tricky that they wanted payment sent to their bank account ahead of time, but I couldn’t do that, and they let me off. The place is right by the station, not the HSR one, but that’s a five-minute train ride away with an easy transfer.
