The staff were friendly and helpful, and my room was large and comfortable. It’s a 5-minute walk to a 7-Eleven convenience store and 15 minutes to the central bus station. The noise was mostly something I could live with: the market gets going from 7am, and the basketball court in the park next door brings shouts and cheers most evenings until 9pm, sometimes 10pm. I was disappointed when someone played basketball alone in the early hours on October 25, 2025. That left a stain on my Nantou experience. Anyone hoping for a quiet stay may want to skip this hotel.

There are plenty of restaurants and shops around this modern, nice hotel. It’s in a good location, about an 8-minute walk from the bus station.

The new facility has a friendly host, and check-out was easy. There’s a meat store nearby, so you can hear chopping from early in the morning.

The blankets were a little dusty and could use a more thorough cleaning. Otherwise, the rooms are spacious, there are convenient places to eat nearby, and the guesthouse is good value for money. I’d visit again if I get the chance.
