The staff replied to service requests through Instagram in under a minute, as far as I can remember, and the shared washrooms were clean and hygienic. The town is about a 4 min drive away, with a quaint old street and a 7-Eleven for last-minute things. I stayed over a weekend and had a good experience, though the tents were closer to the regular hotel than the photos had led me to expect. They were comfortable and well maintained, with a small covered spot beside each tent where four people could relax or cook. With so many tents around, the evenings were lively, people grilling meat, singing, and watching things on projector screens. The lighting added to the atmosphere. It was hot and humid during my visit; the pedestal fan and de-humidifier helped, but the tent stayed quite humid until night.

I'd come back for the fish dishes, but staying in the main building really isn't for me. The shower is just a hose, and the water swings between shockingly cold and scalding hot instead of staying warm. That feels dangerous for young children or older people. The AC seems about 30 years old, and it only turns on, off, or adjusts if you stand at just the right angle and distance. They give you tiny 4 oz paper cups, so even though I'd brought my own drip coffee, there was no way to make a cup in the morning. I knew there wouldn't be drinkable coffee. And there were so many mosquitoes, probably from the fish pond on the property. Not my kind of vacation stay.

The owners are still renovating some parts, but they're doing a great job. The rooms are large and fancy, the hotel is clean and beautiful, prices are reasonable, and the food is good. There's also a fishing club. We got a lot of help from manager Wayne and his brother Chehsin, who were both very kind and spoke good English. They were always ready with guidance and suggestions, and Chehsin kindly drove us to nearby Quanhua Temple, just a few kilometers away. Spending time with him there was priceless, and we learned a lot from each other. SpringYU B&B is a calm place by the mountains in a beautiful natural area, away from noisy cities. The people are kind and helpful too.
