Fullon Hotel Tamsui Fisherman's Wharf

The property is lovely, with beautiful views. Our clean, spacious rooms were great, and the staff were gracious and helpful. Highly recommend.

The kids had a lot of fun in the small spa pool, and there are plenty of facilities for children. Breakfast was quite good too. For me, though, the pillows weren't very comfortable to sleep on.

The main thing I want to raise is safety. My wife burned her hand on the plug of the hotel hairdryer, not on the dryer body, which naturally gets hot during use. The power from the room sockets seemed intermittent, so I can't tell whether the problem was that particular hairdryer or a wider electrical issue. Guests should be aware of possible fire and burn risks. The pool on the third floor also had many missing tiles, making it easy to stub a toe. When the spa jet was switched on, a loose tile floating in the water hit me, and it hurt quite a bit. The maintenance and safety concerns didn't feel like a one-off, so I suggest being careful if you stay here. Management's response was concerning too. The front desk supervisor was understanding and helpful, but the higher manager wouldn't come out of the office and at first offered only perfunctory gifts, like a dessert. After more than an hour talking with the front desk staff, we were finally offered some monetary compensation. That left me feeling higher management didn't give enough importance to hospitality or safety, though I'm not sure which.

The Chinese food was just so-so, and there was nothing impressive about it. The bar's list of only three beers was a shame, worse than what you'd expect at a restaurant or cafe. The location is far out, so I'm doubtful I'd come again. The room was spacious, with a balcony and a perfect river view. It had two large double beds, and the tub and shower were fine.
