Hotel Cham Cham - Taipei

Hotel Cham Cham was a great stay. The location is excellent, a short walk from Banqiao Main Station and two major shopping centers, and it connects with two other hotels, which makes the area feel very accessible. The free, spacious basement parking was a huge convenience. My room was incredibly spacious, clean, and quiet, with a great layout that separated the shower and toilet. Amenities were no longer provided, which was fine for us. I highly recommend it!

The location worked well for us. There were plenty of possible food stops and Family Marts within a short walk. Banqiao train and bus depot was a seven-minute walk, and airport express bus 1962 to Taoyuan International stopped right outside. Breakfast is at Lotus restaurant on the second floor of the sister hotel next door, Caesar Park hotel. The food quality was very good, though the service there felt just as unspontaneous and strained. At our own front desk, service was efficient but restrained in warmth, and the cramped space could get chaotic when full of guests. Our room on the top, 20th floor, had great views of the surrounding city. It was a decent size and generally comfortable, with good lighting, a large enough TV, and plenty of wall chargers. Beds were adequate, though not the most comfortable I've had, and having only one pillow per bed was odd. I didn't ask for more. There weren't enough hangers, so we did have to request some. The basin adjoining the bedroom area was an odd design choice, though I've seen stranger things. Air conditioning was centrally controlled and didn't seem adjustable, staying mostly at 23 degrees C. Every floor seemed to have a water dispenser near the lifts. They also provide free snacks, water, and drinks.

The bathroom had no door separating it from the room, which felt a bit uncomfortable. The beds were comfortable, and housekeeping did a good job. The rooms always looked and smelled fresh. I really liked the mirror too, with its nice lighting and clear visibility.

The hotel got my watch back to me after I left it in the room. I called, and the staff quickly got back to say they’d found it, then mailed it to my apartment in Taichung for a small delivery fee. I’m really grateful, and I’ll remember that service. The hotel itself is clean and modern, and check-in was quick and easy. It’s also very convenient, about a five-minute walk from Banqiao HSR station. If you want to use the bath, bring a universal drain plug. The one in our room didn’t seem to seal properly.
