Hotel Intrendy

The room got warmer and the night seemed shorter after a quick, impulsive kiss with a Lin Chi Ling lookalike. We’d chatted and laughed, then shared that bold moment after what felt like the shortest queue in history. Travel magic can happen fast here, and the memory lasted longer than the stay. The staff stayed professional, the walls discreet, and nobody asked questions. Just right. As a hotel, it’s pretty ordinary. The room was clean, the bed decent, and it was quiet enough to sleep. Check in, check out, life goes on. Still, I’d stay again.

The room had a beautiful view over the trains, city, and countryside, and this was an affordable option compared with how expensive other Taipei hotels are. There’s breakfast available too, though I slept through the serving hours and couldn’t try it. The carpet, on the other hand, is extremely old and needs replacing. I emailed the day before because I had a late flight and the hotel doesn’t accept check-ins after midnight. They replied with an automatic confirmation saying they had 24 hours to respond, but never followed up. I also sent a message through the website and got no answer. That was really frustrating and stressful. We arrived at 11 pm for the reservation, and I didn’t know whether we’d be delayed.

The room was spacious and the staff were friendly. The buffet breakfast was just middling, and the internet connection kept cutting in and out. The hotel is some distance from the tourist spots, for better or worse, and there aren’t many restaurants nearby.

The breakfast runs daily from 7 to 9:30 am, and I enjoyed it. There was a pretty good range and quality of food, though on days with hard-boiled eggs I wished they’d also offer scrambled or fried eggs for people like me who don’t eat them boiled. It’s a modern hotel in New Taipei City, with friendly staff who speak English. The rooms are fairly spacious, especially by Taipei standards, and housekeeping kept mine spotless and left complimentary water each day. The front desk and management were wonderful and extremely helpful. I’ve had excellent stays here and would highly recommend it.
