If you're traveling alone or as a couple, I'd be wary of booking a standard room here. Those rooms for one or two guests are directly below the seventh-floor family suites, and the soundproofing between floors is very poor. When families with children are upstairs, footsteps and kids jumping in their playrooms come through as loud thuds all night. The earplugs they provide barely help because it feels like bass reverberating through the floor, not ordinary background noise. My room was 605, on the sixth floor, where other guests have reported the same problem. The family wasn't even directly above me, they were diagonally overhead, and the noise was still intolerable. I can only imagine how it is in a room directly underneath. It was bad enough to contribute to my leaving a day early. This has apparently been happening for years, based on reviews going back three years, and it's disappointing that the hotel hasn't done much about it. The building's soundproofing needs to be fixed, perhaps with carpeting or changes to the room structure. I don't blame the kids for being kids. The staff were kind and meant well, but warnings were all they could really offer. They also finish work at 10 PM, so if a problem comes up afterward, you may be facing a sleepless night. Thinker Hotel management, please address the construction issue. Saying “we're sorry” or “sorry” doesn't help much without a fix. When I checked out early, a staff member offered me a Thinker Hotel branded coaster as an apology. I appreciated the small gesture, but I was sleep deprived from the noise and didn't want a souvenir of the stay, so I declined. The apologies felt empty while the problem remained. I wouldn't recommend staying here.

The room was spacious and clean, and the hotel is right in the middle of the shopping area. Not having breakfast available was a downside for me.

The kids have a great playground here, and the modern design gives the hotel a nice feel. Our room was well equipped, with a comfortable bed and a nice bathroom. Everything was well maintained, and the staff were both friendly and professional.

We stayed here two years ago, and it was clear the owner puts real effort into upkeep. The rooms and amenities were very nice, and the huge playroom for kids was a great extra.

We came last week with a friend, and it suited me as a budget conscious traveler who mostly needed somewhere to sleep and wasn't too picky. They supplied the basics: shampoo, body wash, towels, tissue and slippers. It was affordable, peaceful and easy to get around from, so I give it five stars. The hotel may be a little far from the train, but buses make it accessible. Bus 221 from Taipei Main or Ximen stops just a few steps away. The Zhongxiao bus line also runs on a street only a few meters away. From Sanchong station, buses 232 and 264 can take you to the hotel.
