We had a great base for seeing the waterfall and Old Town Shifen, with lovely views and a hot shower. The rooms aren't luxurious, but they had water refills and both A/C and heat. The friendly staff were very helpful, and breakfast and a lantern launch were included. They could also sort out things like a ride to Taipei when we left. Highly recommend it for a stay in Shifen.

The staff were lovely and did a lot to make our stay good, and breakfast was nice too. The place is cute and looks just like the photos, though it's a little old. It's pretty remote, but we managed fine without a car thanks to the Pingxi line, buses, Uber, and beautiful views. The main drawback was the beds: in each of our two rooms, one of the two beds was rock hard.

This is a warm, family-run hotel with lots of fun attractions. Be sure to look for fireflies at night!

The rooms were good and the shower was great, but what really made the stay was the hospitality. Andy took us to the train station, picked us up at the waterfall, then drove us to the coal mine museum after checking that it was open on a rainy day, picked us up there, and dropped us at the station again. We also got a very late checkout, breakfast, chips for the kids, and a sky lantern offered on the house, all included in the price. I'd recommend them 100%.

Such a cool place, and the people are amazing. If you're visiting later in the afternoon, it's a great spot to spend the night.
