We picked the culvert room for our family birthday trip, since we needed somewhere in Puli that could accommodate our pets and elderly relatives at a good price. There’s a private bathroom in the room, and the setup is senior-friendly. The whole campsite felt carefully planned and well maintained, and the owner was incredibly welcoming. It was relaxing just sitting outside the room. You can barbecue there if you bring your own food, and breakfast comes from a shop the owner specially chose. We did have a barbecue spoiled by a group of guests with very poor manners, though we understood the owner’s position. Still, next time we’re in Puli, we’d stay here again.

Seeing my dog happily racing around the big lawn made the trip worthwhile. It’s a relaxing spot for people and pets, with fresh air, parking, and a pleasant environment where kids can play, too. We chose Hanwu for a last-minute trip to Nantou after checking several places because clean rooms mattered to us. The rooms were very clean, with king-size beds, and each one is separate, so sound shouldn’t carry much between them. We paid about $2500 a night for Sunday to Monday through a booking site, plus a reasonable $300 cleaning fee for our pet. Breakfast was included, with Chinese and Western choices and the local Puli Salted Fried Dough Sticks, which were delicious. The owner left it on the sofa outside our room at 8 am so guests wouldn’t be disturbed. She was friendly and chatty, shared homegrown passion fruit with us, and had oranges out in the morning. There’s also a barbecue area if you bring your own food and utensils. We’d love to return with friends. 🥹🥹

The owner and their family made us feel so welcome. We’ve been here for Christmas and Chinese New Year, and the clean air, quiet setting, convenient location, and hospitality keep drawing us back. It’s pet-friendly, which is a big plus, and kids can play safely too. ♥️🧡☺️

I had to cancel a booking here two years ago because of a typhoon, but the owner still remembered me when I came back. She was so kind and friendly. The place is clearly cared for, and I loved the pet-friendly setting and delicious breakfast. I’ll return if I get the chance.
