The Chinese restaurant was a highlight, with tasty food and a more private fine dining feel. The buffet had a decent range of choices, though it could get busy and crowded. Staff were very friendly and attentive, and gave the help and advice we needed. The resort isn't new, but it's kept in good shape. Choose an executive suite for striking mountain and ocean views.

The coastline, mountains, and canyon nearby are among the most beautiful places in Taiwan, maybe even the world, and the seafood is great too. It's a good place to bring kids, with an amusement park nearby and plenty of entertainment at the hotel. The fighter jet flybys are a must if your kids like planes.

With several gardens, pools, restaurants, and shops, the hotel works well for a few nights of relaxing. It's up on a hill with lovely sea views. A few things could be better. The three elevators are all on one side of each wing, North and South, which can be inconvenient. The gym could be quieter, since the constant music gets in the way when guests want to use their own playlists. The TV channel selection is limited too. Just my personal observations.

Of the hotels we stayed at while traveling through different cities in Taiwan, Far Glory Hotel in Hua Lien was the most beautiful and the best. The staff were professional and super friendly, and there were lots of activities for children. We'd definitely come back.

We had a great view, though to really take it in we needed to go outside the main entrance. The lobby was cozy and a pleasant place to wait for check-in. Our room was clean and comfortable, but the pool was only okay and breakfast felt average for a five-star hotel. Service could improve too, since we had to wave someone over to clear plates during meals. The mountain location was peaceful, but the road was winding and had no streetlights, which made it tricky at night.
