Tong Pu Hotel

The downstairs hot spring area was very nice, and the lobby looked okay. I found the changing area full of hair, though, and the bathroom smelled bad. The restaurant was cold and underground, with no windows, which made it feel a bit depressing. Most of the hotel was old and shabby. It felt like stepping back into the 70s, and I didn't find it very clean.

The restaurant food was pretty good and there was enough choice. The bed was comfortable, and soaking in the tub felt nice, though I couldn't really tell whether the water was hot spring water as they say. The outlets were in awkward spots and not very convenient. The room's soundproofing was poor, so whether it was peaceful depended on luck. The location is handy, right on the street, but neighbors holding events or singing karaoke could easily disturb the room. For this price, I don't have much to complain about, and I'd come again.

The room felt old, and the bed squeaked whenever I turned over. It really needs a proper renovation.

We stayed on Sunday, January 11th. The owner was very nice, the room was clean, and it was great value. The hot spring, near the mountain, was really comfortable to soak in. The next morning we went straight out for plum blossom season, which was handy and helped us avoid the midday traffic jam. Breakfast was a favorite too, especially the cabbage and scrambled eggs. A good value option.
