Fongchih Motel

There was a huge cockroach in the bathroom of another room, leaving the next guests on edge in case it showed up again. The hygiene was really poor, and they need to improve it. After a tiring day of sightseeing over the long weekend, I spent the night at a motel. I checked the bed, blankets, and other things that would touch my body, as I usually do, and found spots on the sheets that looked like bloodstains. I couldn't sleep at all. I checked in at 9 PM and left at 7 AM. When I told the motel staff, they kept suspecting that I had caused the problem, which really upset me.

The room smelled of smoke throughout, and there was no way to adjust the air conditioning. In the family room for four, one bed was awful and the other felt like a board with a thin mattress. I woke up sore all over after one night. The bathtub wouldn't hold water, and its hot water wouldn't turn on, so I had to use the shower. I waited there for ten minutes and the water level still hadn't risen. With a one-star rating, I suppose it earns that much, but I wouldn't give it a star otherwise.

The room was comfortable and I slept well. The staff were polite and welcoming, and the place was clean. It's also in a convenient spot. Good value for the money, and I'd gladly come back.

When I arrived, the desk told me the 2,980 rate only applied after 10 PM. I said I could wait, but then they changed the explanation and said the discount required an advance booking. I'd called just ten minutes earlier and been told I could check in then at 2,980. I've never had a price jump by 1,500 in ten minutes before. It was awful. I messaged the friend who recommended the place, then turned around and left.
