Inhouse Hotel Grand

Room 505 was okay for the price and location, and it had baby-friendly amenities. But brown water was leaking from the toilet ceiling into the bathtub. At checkout around 11 a.m., there was nobody at the front desk, and I waited 20 minutes for the receptionist to come back. Restaurant staff couldn’t help because they weren’t trained on the front desk system. I’ve never had to deal with an unmanned desk at checkout before.

The pool was the main reason we booked, but it stayed closed until 17.00. By then the sun was already gone. There was no open bar or staff around, and hardly any towels. The woman at reception was very unfriendly, never smiled, and seemed to charge extra for anything you wanted or needed. It was a really disappointing stay for the money. Why have a rooftop lounge and pool if they’re shut all day? They should mention the hours on every booking site.

The room was great, and I had a really good stay. Breakfast was simple but enough. There was also a jetted tub in the room, with bath powder provided.

The rooms are clean, comfortable, and quite nice, and the showers are great. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the price is reasonable. I liked the reading lights built into the headboards and the playful messages on the bathroom mirrors. The tile veining throughout the hotel is also nicely done. Some rooms have pleasant city views, though I didn’t get time to try the tub or pool. Laundry service and a laundromat are nearby. Breakfast was reliably good, with a small selection. The coffee was good, but the fruit juices were too sweet for me. I wish lotion came with the hand wash, body wash, and shampoo. The robes were tiny and didn’t fit a more typical Western body size. On my first stay they replenished the coffee, tea, and snacks daily, including sugar and stir sticks, but not on later visits.
