The downstairs space is lovely, with plenty of room to sit and relax together, and this is one of the cleanest hostels I've ever stayed at. The staff were super friendly and it was a really nice place to stay in Sun Moon Lake. The room setup is unusual, a bit like a dorm but still gives you a decent amount of privacy. The double beds have their own tents. I'd absolutely recommend it.

I spotted this lovely place while cycling around sun moon lake and stopped for coffee before heading on to wenwu temple. It was comfortable and relaxing, with soothing music and friendly staff.

There are only a few showers, so you may have to wait. The breakfast was good, the staff were delightful, and I thought the price was great even though some other reviews call it expensive. It's a nice, creative hostel. One thing to know if you're coming by bus from Taipei: it drops you on the other side of the lake. I arrived late, when there was no public transport, and had trouble finding a taxi.
