Phoenix Hotel

The kids had a super fun time, especially with the car-themed beds and the massive playground and gym. The facilities were clean, the buffet had a lot to choose from, and the room rates were reasonable. One improvement would be to separate the shower area from the toilets in the bathroom.

My kid voted this the best hotel of the trip. There was a huge upstairs play area, and the breakfast buffet was enormous, with something for everyone. Our room was also very big, with lots of beds, open space, a car bed, and a big bathtub. Service was good, and we didn't have any special needs. There's a carpark around the back, and its elevator goes straight into the hotel. The nearby Chun Shui Tang is very close. I didn't enjoy walking around town much, though. It felt like you needed taxis or cars, with old narrow streets, few pavements, and malls far away.

The buffet had plenty to choose from, including really good gelato and sorbet, though there was no bacon or some other Western food. Families should like the floor set up for children to play. The rooms are compact, but clean, with a good bathroom and shower and the basics covered. It's central, though definitely not luxurious. There’s a food delivery stop, and room service is standard. There’s no parking outside, and the area around the hotel is cluttered, with no proper footpath and motorcycles that don’t stop for anything.

The brunch was outstanding for the price, and the roomy, well-designed playground on the 9th floor is great for little kids. The room had a large TV, though I wished the multimedia options were better. At over NTD$7,000 a night, I was surprised there were no windows or washlet. The mattress was very hard, the pillows uncomfortable, and sound carried through the walls.
