The Splendor Hotel Taichung

There’s a Family Mart on the ground floor, and the hotel is a three to five minute walk from the bus stops and the Sogo Mall. A halal restaurant that opens at 11am and 5pm is also about that far away. My room was big and spacious, with a comfortable bed and a nice view of the city. Bottled water was provided, along with soap, shampoo, dental floss, and ear buds, though I had to bring my own toothbrush. The toilet had a useful bidet, the aircon was strong, and the WiFi was okay. I enjoyed my stay.

After 9:05pm, a hungry vegetarian at the Splendor might just stay hungry. The restaurant turned me away, and so did the lobby bar, saying the chef had gone. When I asked reception what food was available for veggie guests after 9pm, all they offered me was a banana. Once, vegetarians were a rare breed, but there are plenty of us now. Writing this hun-angry review in my room while eating my emergency protein bar 😅

We came back to Splendor Hotel Taichung and stayed in a Family Deluxe Room from 10/15-10/22/2025. The room was spacious, clean, and well maintained, with comfortable beds and panoramic city views. We had to move rooms during our stay, and the lobby and concierge staff handled the move and our luggage quickly and smoothly. They were friendly, professional, and attentive, and we appreciated them. The hotel has a fitness center, swimming pool, and breakfast. We really enjoyed the breakfast buffet, with its good variety and quality, fresh ingredients, and nicely presented Western and Asian options. We’d definitely recommend it to families and business travelers, and will come back.

The breakfast buffet was exceptional, and I had a great stay at the Splendor Hotel while attending a conference. My room was nice too. Bruce Yu at the front desk stood out. When we had a minor air conditioning issue in the suite bedroom, he quickly got maintenance on it and even offered a fan to move the air conditioning from the main room. We really enjoyed our stay.
