West Lake Resortopia

My child had a great time at Westland Resortopia in Miaoli County. We went a few days ago, and the place was beautiful, with lots of cherry trees, a baby playground, a magic show, and a dinosaur park.

We had our family day here. It's a big place, and if you love nature, you can stay here.

The view for a wedding is nice, but most of the place felt run down. The property is old, the bathroom wall tiles are cracked, and the air conditioning barely worked. By after 10 in the morning it felt like a sauna. The restaurant for breakfast also looks stuck in the 80s, and for 500 NT each, I thought McDonald's breakfast was better. We stayed two nights, which was enough for us. There are no washing machines in the smaller building where we stayed, only in the main block. The arcade feels like another way to get more money from parents. The buggy only runs for 30 minutes or once an hour, so we just walked instead of waiting. Many facilities open at 10 am and close at 5 pm. Even during the June holidays, I didn't see actual school children there. Don't expect too much from the countryside.

The crickets chirped late into the night, and then the frogs started calling in the morning. Rooms are spacious, with the essentials and a little extra, and it's a great place for families with kids. I'm not keen on carpet in a humid resort, though. Breakfast was a bit weak, and I don't get why they use imported liquid soap with all that carbon footprint 🤷🏻‍♀️. I'd recommend it to young families.
