The four-person room had plenty of space, with a firm bed, comfy pillows, and a bathtub. It was only about 130 cm long, though. The water pressure was strong and hot, and the soundproofing was good. The price seemed fair, the facilities looked fairly new, and the old house has an industrial feel. Using the small washbasin in the room was awkward, and there’s no separate wet and dry area. Maybe it’s because of the yellow spotlight, but dust was quite visible floating around when I used the towels and bedding. An air purifier would be a good idea.

It was a comfortable stay. The room was very clean, and the shallow bathtub was still relaxing. Even though it was by the road, it was almost completely quiet, with good soundproofing. No elevator, but that was fine.

Booking took less than five minutes, and I got a text once the B&B confirmed payment. Check-in was self-service: fill in basic information at the counter, pick up the key, and head upstairs. The instructions said to answer the questions through Line to get the entry password. I was glad I had little luggage for the third-floor climb, since there’s no elevator. I decided on a one-night Tainan stay on a whim and found the place through Google Maps, which links to different hotel and B&B booking platforms. Calling the B&B directly is also an option and usually gets a better price than those platforms. The room was small but well equipped, and the sheets and quilt were spotless. There’s no free parking, but nearby spaces are free from 8 PM until 8 AM. Breakfast isn’t provided either, though there are lots of places close by. Three rice cake shops just down the street serve traditional and Western-style breakfasts.

The room was already cool when I came in, which was especially welcome in the hot weather. It was an affordable, comfortable stay with simple decor, and the staff were proactive and friendly. Being near the main road and a temple also made me feel safe. I’d recommend it.
