Parking turned into a hassle. Of the 14 spaces, almost half aren't suitable for RVs because the ramp is so steep that you'll scrape the vehicle going up. A truck took up one space one day, and when nothing else was available, I had to pay to park nearby. There was also a half-used shampoo sachet left in the bathroom, which made me wonder how thoroughly the room had been cleaned. The sofa made me itchy and uncomfortable in under three minutes, so after our three days and two nights I avoided sitting on it. And there wasn't a proper mirror in the room, just a low one in the bathroom. I had to bend or squat to do my makeup, which was really inconvenient. I wouldn't stay here again on another trip to Tainan.
With two kids, seeing the renovation happening in the middle of the month made this an easy first choice for our Tainan trip. They even arranged to bring a bathtub after learning we had a little one. The care, service, attitude, and surroundings were all wonderful, and I could say so much more. I'd absolutely pick Aililai again. 🥰
We spent the second night in room 305 after the staff offered to move us. Everything there worked: the TV, hairdryer, and toilet drying function, and the small mirror by the sink was useful. The shower door still leaked a little, but much less than before. In room 505, the Ambow box TV wouldn't work even after someone tried to fix it, the internet was faulty so YouTube wouldn't play, the hairdryer barely blew, there was no sink mirror, the toilet's drying function was faulty, and water poured through a gap in the shower door. Not every room uses an Ambow box. We'd booked two nights and were first given room 505. The move was described as an upgrade, but the room and bed were the same size; it seemed more like getting working facilities. I keep wondering whether they assumed we wouldn't complain and gave us that room, or whether they truly didn't know about all the issues. I'd stay again if it were room 305. I hope they sort out room 505.
There were footprints on the panel below the TV, and the wardrobe had a slightly musty smell when I opened it. I could just avoid using the wardrobe, but the room itself was so hospital-like that I wanted to leave as soon as I walked in. The strong medicinal smell made it feel like I was in a hospital. I thought I'd booked a resort room, but it didn't feel like a vacation at all.
There's a 7-Eleven right beside the hotel, and downstairs you can help yourself to snacks. The room has a balcony, an air purifier, and a bidet toilet. Everything felt spacious and clean, so I'd stay again next time I'm in Tainan.
