Chez Poky

We came to Taiwan for our honeymoon and got a lovely surprise when the host upgraded our stay. The place is beautiful, and our room was spacious. We really appreciated the warm welcome and the accommodation for an earlier breakfast on our last day. Breakfasts were delicious, and we enjoyed the library and its DVDs too ☺️

Poky is a wonderful host, very personable, and I loved chatting with him. This was our best minsu stay so far. Less is more, and we'll be back. Hope you get to stay with Poky too!

We stayed 3 nights, and Poky's place was one of the best we've found in years of traveling worldwide. He was warm and professional, always ready to help with foodie recommendations for a couple of rainy nights, or simply have a chat when we were heading out or back after a full day in Tainan. His excellent movie collection was available to guests too. The home is beautifully designed, on a quiet little street, and our room was large, comfortable, quiet, and extremely well appointed. Breakfast came from local sources and changed each day. The reviews already show that Chez Poky needs no introduction, but we wanted to share our own glowing review. Book it, you won't regret it. Chez Poky was our favorite place during 10 days traveling through Taiwan. The open living area has books, jazz music, comfortable seating, and classy decor. Our room was clean, spacious, and comfortable, with a great bidet and strong shower pressure. I liked having assigned slippers for certain areas since they help keep the place clean for everyone. We were only there for one day, and Poky helped put together a custom itinerary with activities and food suggestions. It's in West Central Tainan, within walking distance of places like the Hayashi Department Store, Guohua and Hai-An street, and other attractions. We're American and mostly speak English, so it was lovely that he also spoke Cantonese, since our families are from Hong Kong. Breakfast was wonderful: swordfish balls soup with meat balls and fresh fruit, plus a range of drinks. My partner and I chose Vietnamese coffee. Thanks for a great stay, Poky. We hope to return!
