We were told at check-in that smoking wasn’t allowed in the room, and it was clearly marked as non-smoking. Still, cigarette smoke came in through the door all night. Road noise was also very clear through the windows, even from the 10th floor. If either of those things would bother you, I’d suggest not booking here.

The room’s location is great, right by Guohua Street and close to many popular attractions. The bed and pillows were well chosen, and there were plenty of amenities, including drinking water and cookies in the refrigerator. The staff were friendly and gave detailed information. They also stored my luggage and carried it up to the room. Getting into the building was confusing at first. There was no hotel sign at the entrance, and nobody answered my three calls on the first day. I waited downstairs until someone came out. The elevator didn’t say which floor to check in on, so I pressed 10 from memory. Even then, I needed my card to enter before someone finally answered. It would help to label “Youle” by the first-floor door sensor, the elevator on the 10th floor, and the sensor up there, and to put a contact number beside that sensor. The air conditioner smelled musty and damp, and there was a lot of dust in the corners, on the ceiling, and on the bathroom screens. People with allergies or obsessive-compulsive disorder should be careful. The room looked different from the online photos, almost as if the filter had been removed. If you don’t mind the cleanliness, it’s a good option.

The location near Guohua Street is the only good thing about this place. The room rate doubled for Lunar New Year, and they charged NT$300 for an extra blanket, which was exorbitant. I checked into room A03 on the second day of Lunar New Year in 2025. The website showed a bed set and a window, but my room had neither. There was just a mattress on the floor, and the room was cramped and unlike the pictures. As an elderly person, I found the low mattress hard to get up from and hurt my back. Sitting down was difficult too because it was easy to lean backward. Elderly travelers should think twice before booking. Highly not recommended, extremely poor value for money.

The water in the refrigerator and cookies on the table were a nice touch, and everything else I needed was provided, though there was no comb, so bring your own. The soundproofing was decent despite some reviews mentioning cigarette smell. Once the traffic died down at night, it was fairly quiet. The main issue was the bathroom, which had no shower curtain or exhaust fan. There was a window, but I was hesitant to open it because of privacy. The first floor didn’t really feel like a guesthouse and made the place hard to find at first, though the location was convenient. I appreciated getting a free upgrade. The quality felt worth the price, and I think it’s a good place to book.
