There’s a nice outdoor market right outside in the morning, and breakfast choices are close by. We liked being in a more residential neighborhood, though there weren’t many restaurants around. It’s about a 10-minute walk to the subway, and we walked a lot since that one line wasn’t always the one we needed. The room was roomy, with a big bench for several bags and a separate seating area that worked well for eating and relaxing. Water and sodas were replenished daily, and there was a bidet. The lighting was too dim for reading or for the kids assembling toys. The bathroom opens onto the room with just a curtain, and the shower seemed to have mold or mildew. Wi-Fi was patchy. You can borrow umbrellas from the doormen, though you may have to ask. Tea, coffee, and hot water for cup noodles are by reception, they’ll store your luggage, and the reception restroom was very clean. Check-in wasn’t until 4 PM, which was very late.

After years of looking, this is my favourite hotel in Taipei. There’s a convenience store just across the road, a few places to eat nearby, and the metro is an easy straight walk of about 10 minutes. The room was spacious and clean, with two sinks for three people, a comfortable bed and pillows, and both a standing shower and a bathtub in separate parts of the bathroom. The place looked nice from reception through to the room. Drinks in the minibar were restocked, and the lobby had free snacks, tea, coffee, and some soft drinks. The one drawback was that we weren’t allowed to flush toilet paper, likely because of the risk of clogging.

The room itself was very nice, but the strict timing and room allocation made our stay more complicated than expected. Check-in is at 4 PM and checkout at noon, with no early check-in or late checkout. We arrived at noon and asked then, giving the hotel four hours to coordinate, but they still couldn’t put our group on the same floor. They said that because we wanted a high floor, they couldn’t guarantee when two rooms on the same level would be ready. Traveling with friends? Be prepared to end up on different floors. For a one-night stay, the short window from 4 PM to noon can make things feel rushed. For a longer visit of several days or a week, the fixed check-in and checkout times matter less, and you can enjoy the quality of the rooms.

We really loved our stay. The staff were super friendly, and it’s easy to get around from here, with trains and bus stops nearby. There’s a small local market and food court downstairs. The gym is abysmal, though. The local sports centre down the road has a weight gym for 50twd an hour.

Free parking for guests was a nice extra. The hotel was comfortable, clean, and quiet, with excellent staff. Breakfast in the morning was good, and the spacious tubs and provided bath salts were very good too. I’d stay here again.
