Opan, the orange cat, seems to run the place, enjoying nightly cuddles and pets. The hotel is above a coffee shop where the hosts serve drinks and sell souvenirs, and their personal touches made it feel like they really wanted us to enjoy our stay. There’s a handwritten neighborhood map with recommendations, lovely ceramics for the complimentary tea, good toiletries, and a record player in every room. The rooms are comfortable, too. I travel a lot, and OrigInn Space is among the most distinctive, thoughtfully designed hotels I’ve stayed in. It’s a good fit if you want somewhere truly local with a knowledgeable host and a personal feel. If you’re after a predictable international chain hotel where every room looks the same, this isn’t that. We had an amazing time and can’t wait to come back.
