I wouldn’t stay here again. The beds were hard as a floor, with no comfort, and the rooms felt tired, with too few power outlets and no USB chargers. The hotel has seen better days, and it’s expensive for what you get. Internet was poor, breakfast offered little beyond toast and coffee, and reception staff had a surly attitude, with no please or thank you. To me, this isn’t a four-star hotel, more like 2.5-3 stars.

Breakfast was delicious, with both Western and Taiwan options. The rooms were very clean, and all the staff were friendly and welcoming. The fine art museum, which is a must-see, is an eight-minute walk away.

It was just okay, but the low price meant I can’t complain too much. I was disappointed when I asked reception to call a taxi: they tried one number, said nobody was answering, and told me I’d have to call one myself.
