Cosmos Hotel Huashan Town

The Godzilla theme gave the hotel a fun, distinctive feel without going overboard. The rooms had city views and were clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully laid out, with good amenities. Staff were warm and attentive, and everything from check-in to checkout went smoothly. Breakfast was the most extravagant spread I’ve had, with Taiwanese dishes alongside international choices. It felt more like a feast than a hotel buffet. Fuhang Soy Milk is just a short walk away, which made mornings extra special. This is a comfortable, convenient place with a bit of character. I’d gladly return and recommend it to anyone visiting Taipei.

The service and ambience were great, and the room was a decent size. I liked being able to get large free bottles of water from the hallway, and having a proper clean water kettle instead of a coffee maker that leaves the water tasting like coffee. The Japanese-style bathroom was a good size, with the toilet outside the bathing area. Different room lights, including reading lights, came in handy, and the bed and pillows were comfortable. Towels were changed and rubbish cleared daily, while housekeeping cleaned the room every other day. A few things could be better: there wasn’t enough space to hang clothes, the floors could have been vacuumed more thoroughly, and cleaners should avoid using the same gloves on clean linen after changing the bin bag. Still, a great experience and service. I strongly recommend the hotel.

The location worked perfectly for me, close to both the train station and a convenience store. I’ll definitely come back on my next trip. I stayed in mid-November and the staff were amazing. At check-in I said I didn’t want a corner room, and they changed it while still honoring my request for a quiet room. The housekeeping team was really nice and friendly too.

The large tub was a highlight, and I liked having a coin laundry on the third floor. The rooms are a bit dark, but it’s a solid basic business hotel. They don’t provide toothbrushes, toothpaste, or an amenity kit, though you can buy those at the front desk. Hotel Gracery Taipei is a fairly new Japanese hotel, opened in September 2021, right in the heart of Taipei. It’s about a block from two MRT lines, so the location is hard to beat.
