Dandy Hotel Tianjin

After 10 days here, I’d happily stay again. The service was excellent, and the staff speak multiple languages and really try to help with whatever you need. They stored our bags before check-in and kept them for a day after checkout while we visited Jiufen with just a backpack. Free snacks or food seemed to be available almost all the time. The location is convenient in central Taipei, close to Taipei main station, and there are plenty of restaurants and convenience stores right outside. Our room was cleaned daily, and they replenished the free water bottles every day. Guests can use the free laundry, and staff will help if needed. One person moved our clothes while they were still wet and drying, but the front desk sorted it out and let us put them back in. There’s also a bathtub in the room, which feels like a luxury for this location and price. I thought the price was reasonable for what you get. A couple of details could be better. The bathroom has opaque glass walls, so using the light in the middle of the night can wake the person sleeping in the room. A curtain or sticker to block the light would help. The tub is very deep, and at 5’6” I had to be careful getting in and out, though they provide a little stool. I’d also have liked four pillows instead of two.

We stayed six nights with my husband and already miss the place. We landed at 7 am, and luckily there was a room available for early check-in for a fee. That let us have breakfast, nap, and start our day, just what I needed after a long flight. The room and bed were huge, with enough floor space to keep all four suitcases open and still walk around. The toilet had a high-end bidet system, the slanted tub was great for soaking, and the shower got properly hot with strong pressure. I slept really well and, as a light sleeper, never woke up because of noise. The staff went above and beyond. They put out delicious breakfast every day with lots of changing, healthy, home-cooked options, plus snacks and meals in the afternoon and evening, so you won’t go hungry. There were fun holiday gifts, mosquito repellent, sunscreen, and umbrellas. Laundry is available too, and I later learned they also lend raincoats and bathrobes. They seem to think of everything guests might need to borrow, and they’re so nice. It’s five minutes from two main subway lines, with lots of shops around. Din Tai Fung is a block away, so we took a number and napped at the hotel during the two-hour wait. Dandy Tianjin felt like a cozy sweater to come back to after a long day. It’s a charming, modern guesthouse with a caring host, not a cold, unaccommodating hotel. If you’re considering it, just book it. You won’t regret it.

We stayed four nights and would book again if we return to Taipei. The location was great, the place was very clean, and the staff were amazing. Breakfast was included and always delicious. If I’m back in Taipei, I’ll definitely stay at Dandy Hotel, Tianjin Branch again. The place was spotless, and the staff made me feel at home right away. Breakfast, snacks, free noodles at night, and free laundry were all available. Receptionists were always smiling, and Kim even went out of her way to print recommendations I wouldn’t have found on my own. It’s a five-minute walk to the nearest metro, which connects to a couple of different lines, and a 15-20 minute walk to the main station. On my last day I realized my sunglasses had been missing for a few days. The reception team tracked them down and got them back to me. Thanks to the whole team!
