The staff were awesome, really kind and attentive, and they even let me store my bike inside the hostel. I stayed one night in a double bed capsule at Dongmen 3 Hostel, and it was some of the best value for money I found in Taipei. The capsule was roomy and had a bedside table, outlets, a lamp, and coat hangers. Underneath was a decent-sized locker, though not big enough for a suitcase. There was space to put the suitcase out of the way in the dorm. The building is on a main road, but the dorm was very quiet. Showers and toilets were on each floor, and washing machines and a dryer were available.

The showers and bathroom were especially clean, and this was the cleanest hostel I’ve stayed in. Communication was great, and the surrounding area was easy to explore on foot. There’s even a cute little balcony. The room without a window could use more space or a rag to dry things, since humidity is an issue. Otherwise, I’d definitely recommend it and come back.

My boyfriend and I had a double bed in the mixed dorm, and with the hangers, little table, lighting, and other bits, it felt like a tiny private room. It was the comfiest hostel bed we’ve had on this trip, and the pillows were proper pillows, which felt luxurious. The place was very clean, and drinking water was available in the kitchen.

The metro is close by, and it can be a budget-friendly place if you're traveling alone and mainly need somewhere to shower and sleep. During my three nights, Bojun was especially helpful and friendly. The noise was a problem, though. Quiet hours after 11 pm and the no-slippers rule were posted, but plenty of guests ignored them, so light sleepers may struggle. Also, getting to an upper bunk means climbing a ladder, which may not suit older guests.

The location made getting around easy, with the red metro line just steps away. There’s a cute coffee shop across the street and another next door, plus a Family Mart only a few steps away. Check-in and checkout were straightforward, and the room and restrooms were spotless. The bed, pillows, and comforter were comfortable too.
